🏘️ Halton’s New Housing Strategy

Halton Region has launched a bold 2025–2035 Comprehensive Housing Strategy focused on tackling urgent housing challenges and building long-term solutions. The plan prioritizes prevention of homelessness, expands supportive housing, and aims to protect and grow affordable housing options. With shelters over capacity and waitlists rising, projects in Oakville and across Halton will add new supportive units. Regional leaders stress that support from provincial and federal governments is essential to maximize impact and help more residents find stable, affordable homes.

🏒 Oakville’s Michael Misa Goes Second

Dean Tait - Sport Shots

Oakville is buzzing with hockey pride as Michael Misa, the electrifying forward from the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit, was picked 2nd overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2025 NHL Draft. His 62 goals and 134 points this season turned heads, and now he’s set to skate alongside stars like Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith in San Jose. Misa becomes becomes the highest Oakville player selected since John Tavares went 1st overall in 2009

Coincidentally, John Tavares has signed a new four-year deal to stay with the Toronto Maple Leafs, choosing loyalty to his hometown team over free agency. With Tavares’ leadership secured in Toronto and Misa’s NHL journey just beginning, Oakville hockey has plenty to celebrate and look forward to in the years ahead.
