🎵 Music, BBQ, and Twilight Strolls at RBG

Oakville News
The Royal Botanical Gardens is kicking off patio season in style with the return of its Spring into Summer event on Thursday, May 15. Designed as part of the RBG After Dark series, the evening is strictly for adults, offering a unique blend of live music, good food, and twilight exploration through the Rock Garden.
Guests will be serenaded by the soulful sounds of Mo Guzman and Red Hot Ramble, a high-energy band inspired by the rhythms of New Orleans. Whether you're dancing near the stage or wandering the garden paths, the setting promises to be unforgettable.
To top it off, attendees can enjoy a barbecue dinner or share a picnic box for two. With tickets priced at $25, this promises to be one of the more memorable ways to welcome the warmer months just outside Oakville.
💼 Supportive Job Program for Youth

🌱 Conservation Halton Named One of Canada’s Greenest Employers

Oakville News
Conservation Halton has been recognized as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for 2025, a national award celebrating organizations that lead with sustainability at their core. The recognition highlights their efforts to reduce their environmental footprint, engage staff in eco-initiatives, and connect their mission with the broader community.
With over four million trees planted, more than 110 restoration projects completed last year, and green infrastructure upgrades across facilities, the organization is deeply invested in long-term environmental stewardship. Programs like Parks Pass It On and PaRx: A Prescription to Nature make nature more accessible for residents, while wellness initiatives for staff reflect a holistic commitment to sustainability. A well-earned honour for a group helping shape a greener future.
🚶♀️ Walk to Support North Halton’s First Hospice

The Townsend Smith Foundation is calling on community members to take part in the eighth annual Hike for Hospice on May 3, with walks taking place in Acton, Georgetown, and Milton. Proceeds will support the creation of north Halton’s first hospice, a planned 10-bed facility offering 24-hour palliative care on the Hillcrest United Church property in Halton Hills.
Participants can register solo or as a team and choose between a 2.5 or 5-kilometre route. With a $25 fee, walkers receive a T-shirt, swag bag, and water. The Georgetown hike, newly added last year, includes a free barbecue courtesy of Maple Lodge Farms. This event is a meaningful opportunity for Oakville-area residents to help bring compassionate end-of-life care closer to home.
