🚨 Speed Cameras Now in New Spots
Oakville’s 14 automated speed cameras have moved to fresh locations across town as of mid-June, targeting Community Safety Zones near schools, parks, and seniors’ residences. These zones now include stretches of Ontario Street, Lakeshore Road East, Maple Grove Drive, and River Glen Boulevard, among others. Cameras rotate every four months to reinforce safe driving where vulnerable residents are often present.
The system snaps a photo if a vehicle exceeds the speed limit, and tickets are mailed to the registered owner within 30 days. Fines range from $5 to $12 per kilometre over the limit, depending on speed.
What are your thoughts on the speed cameras?
