Helping You Find Services You Can Actually Trust
If you’ve ever had a leaking pipe, a broken furnace, or needed physio after an injury, you know how stressful it can be to find the right person to help.
Are they overcharging me?
Am I getting the right treatment?
Will they actually show up?
We’ve been there too—and we want to help take that stress off your plate.
That’s why we’re careful about the partners we bring on. We want you to trust them like you trust us. So when you see a service business in the Oakville Digest, it means:
We’d recommend them to a friend
They’ve got a great local reputation
They actually care about their work, and their customers
We’re building a small group of go-to local service providers that our 8,000+ readers can count on.
So if you run a business like:
Financial services, Dentist/Orthodontist
Landscaping or renovation
Massage, physio, or other health services
Cleaning, moving, you name it
We’d love to chat about partnering up.

🎶 Sound of Music Festival Returns

Just a short drive from Oakville, Burlington’s lakefront will be buzzing June 12–15 as the Sound of Music Festival brings big-name acts like Big Wreck, David Wilcox, Steven Page, and Joel Plaskett Emergency to Spencer Smith Park. Nearly 60 Canadian artists will perform across three stages, with a midway featuring rides, games, and food vendors, plus a Saturday morning parade will be adding to the fun.
It’s all part of what’s known as Canada’s largest free outdoor music festival. If you plan on driving, be prepared to fight for a spot because parking will be tight! Burlington Mall will also be available for parking and offering shuttles to the festival throughout the day.
🏢 Massive New Residential Proposal
Oakville is considering a major housing project at Trafalgar Road and Glenashton Drive, where five tall towers and several mid-rise buildings could bring over 2,600 new homes. The tallest tower would rise 28 storeys, with a mix of buildings between 6 and 20 storeys. The plan includes new parks, retail space, and at least 100 affordable housing units.
Some residents are concerned about traffic, school overcrowding, and the need for more affordable units. A petition with over 150 signatures is already circulating. If you want to voice your thoughts and opinions, there is a town hall meeting on June 16th.
What do you think of this proposal?
🎣 Free Fishing This Weekend
Looking for a relaxing way to spend Father’s Day? Ontario is offering free fishing on June 14 and 15, so Canadian residents can cast a line without a licence. It’s a great chance to enjoy time outdoors with family, whether you're new to fishing or keeping up a tradition. Just remember to follow all regular rules like catch and size limits, and bring valid ID.
