🍔 Food Trucks Take Over Town Square

Ramona Leitao | Oakville News

On May 31, Community Living Oakville hosted its third annual food truck event, bringing together over 200 residents to celebrate inclusion and community spirit. Held in downtown Oakville’s Town Square, the event featured sunny skies, live music, and tasty eats from local favourites like BeaverTails and Wing Kxng.

More than just a fun afternoon, the event spotlighted what inclusive living truly looks like. “It’s an opportunity to show what true community living looks like: people of all abilities coming together, sharing space and being valued,” said CLO Executive Director Alexandra Hoeck Murray.

CLO, a local nonprofit serving the community for over 70 years, supports people with developmental disabilities through social programs and independent living services. Moving the event from Sheridan College to a more central location helped expand its message. As Hoeck Murray put it, “Our whole community becomes stronger, more compassionate, more vibrant.”
