Got a real Christmas tree and don’t know what to do with it now that the holidays are over? Conservation Halton has you covered! They are holding their annual Christmas tree drop off on January 11th from 9am to 1 pm at this address in the parking lot: 2596 Britannia Rd. in Burlington. 

They ask to ensure that trees are free of all ornaments, tinsel, and decorations prior to drop-off. Your donated trees will be used to help prevent erosion, improve water quality and enhance stream habitat for aquatic species,” reads the notice from Conservation Halton. Trees are used in restoration areas around Halton region.

A local Oakville Reddit user witnessed an incredible feat as they were going for a walk through Lions Valley yesterday:

User Redfoxhound503 posted this picture to r/oakville and it has been picking up a lot of attention. The post even reached the daredevil in the picture, he has been in the comment section answering questions and giving more information about himself and his hobby.

🏓 Pickleball Fever Hits Halton: Fever Opens this Month!

New Building Developments in Midtown Oakville
Discussions will continue regarding the province’s proposal to turn a section of Midtown Oakville into a transit-oriented community (TOC) that would feature 11 tall towers between 46 and 59 storeys in height.

Sixteen Mile Sports Complex Opens in 2025
Will feature a community centre equipped with aquatic facilities, fitness/active living centre, flexible multi-use spaces for youth/seniors and gymnasiums. There will also be a library branch and additional outdoor amenities. More info.

Wyecroft Road Extension and Bride Construction Continues
The $117 million project to extend Wyecroft Road between Bronte Road and Burloak Drive is expected to be completed in 2025. More info.

🏊 Iroquois Ridge Community Centre Pool Closed for Six-Month Renovation

The Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre pool is officially closed for a six-month renovation. The project will modernize mechanical systems, update the pool deck, and improve amenities.

The revamped pool is set to reopen in July 2025, just in time for summer. In the meantime, other local pools are available for swimmers. Stay tuned for updates!
