🎾 World’s Largest Indoor Padel & Pickleball Club Coming to Oakville

Courtx Facebook
Oakville is about to welcome a game-changing sports facility. CourtX, a nearly 100,000-square-foot indoor club, is set to open May 16 at 226 Wyecroft Rd., offering what its founders call the world’s largest indoor space for both pickleball and padel. The facility will include 10 padel courts and nine pickleball courts, alongside a fitness area, yoga studio, spa, and social lounges.
“We wanted to make a place where people could come, play, work, socialize and relax,” said CourtX director Mo Shahin, who noted that while they could have added more courts, the goal was a community hub.
The project has been three years in the making, with Oakville chosen after market research showed strong local interest. A grand opening is planned for September, though all courts will be available during the soft launch.

🎉 Celebrate National Youth Week with Free Events May 1–7

Oakville Youth Facebook
Oakville is gearing up for a full week of free, engaging activities for teens aged 13 to 17 in celebration of National Youth Week from May 1 to 7, 2025. Hosted by the Town of Oakville in partnership with the Oakville Youth Action Committee, Oakville Fire Department, and Oakville Public Library, this week-long celebration highlights the creativity, energy, and community spirit of local youth.
From teen takeovers and art unveilings to glow-in-the-dark sports, karaoke, and intergenerational mural-making, the event lineup is packed with fun and meaningful experiences. Youth can also try out lifeguarding skills or enjoy DJ-hosted skating, tech play, and library festivals.
All drop-in programs and fitness centre access are free during the week, but space is limited for certain activities, so advance registration is encouraged. For full event listings and to reserve your spot, visit the Oakville Youth Week webpage or check out the Oakville Public Library site for additional programming.
🚶♀️ Step Up for a Cause at Oakville’s Gutsy Walk on June 1

The Halton-Peel Gutsy Walk is returning to Oakville this year on Sunday, June 1, inviting residents to take part in a 5 KM walk at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. More than just a community stroll, this national event raises vital funds for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, supporting groundbreaking research, life-changing programs, and advocacy efforts like improved bathroom access through the GoHere® initiative.
Oakville’s own Jayda Sutton is serving as this year’s Gutsy Walk Honourary Chair for Ontario. Diagnosed with severe colitis at 24, Jayda has overcome immense personal challenges—including surgery and chronic fatigue—to become a voice of resilience and advocacy. “I see Gutsy Walk as a way to honour my journey,” she says, “and to support those navigating similar paths.”
Volunteers are still needed! Students can earn community service hours, and all volunteers will play a key role in making this event a success. Sign up today and help make a real difference:
