🌸 Narcity Calls Oakville a Spring Gem

narcity.com

Oakville just got a shoutout from Narcity, which named our town one of the best spring day trips near Toronto. The article, written by Madeline Forsyth, describes Oakville as a “storybook” destination with pretty streets, cozy shops and beautiful harbours… Sounds about right.

They highlighted some great seasonal fun, like Spring Time on the Farm at Bronte Creek with animals and historical demos, and Bronte Lake Notes with free live music in the park. Big June events like the Oakville Family Ribfest and Oakville Festivals of Film & Art also made the list.

Nature lovers get their share too, with mentions of Gairloch Gardens, Neyagawa Park and over 200 kilometres of scenic trails. Add ice cream, waterfront views and a downtown full of great eats, and it’s easy to see why Oakville made the cut.

What do you think, did they miss anything?

💍 A Historic “I Do” Moment at Oakville Town Hall

Oakville News

Love was in the air on May 2 as Oakville hosted its very first multi-civil marriage ceremony at Town Hall. Fourteen couples tied the knot throughout the day in a heartwarming celebration that turned the Trafalgar Room and Atrium into romantic wedding spaces filled with music and joy.

Ceremonies were booked in 30-minute intervals from noon to 8 p.m., allowing each couple their special moment to exchange vows. As a bonus, the Town offered a 25 percent discount for the occasion, bringing the usual $400 fee down to $300. That included an officiant, ceremony time and a mini photo session, with guests invited to mingle and celebrate in the atrium afterward.

Town staff confirmed this is the first time Oakville has hosted a multi-civil ceremony event, though civil marriages and license services are regularly available. A huge congratulations to all the newlyweds who helped make Oakville history!
