🍽️ New Restaurant coming

Popular Toronto restaurant Tabule is expanding to Oakville, taking over the former River16 spot at 234 Lakeshore Rd. E. This marks the first location outside Toronto for the Middle Eastern eatery, which is known for its warm atmosphere and flavourful dishes. Signage is already up downtown, and the restaurant is now hiring, though no opening date has been announced.
Founded in 2005 by Chef Rony Goriachy and Diana Sideris, Tabule has built a loyal following across its four Toronto locations. Signature menu items include grilled seabass, lamb skewers, falafel, and hallüm cheese salad, with a well-rounded drink list and desserts like baklava and Kunafa Ashta. Oakville food lovers have something tasty to look forward to!
Who's going?
✈️ Your Chance to Pull a Plane

Source: uwhh.ca
The United Way Halton & Hamilton’s annual Plane Pull is back at Hamilton Airport with more muscle and momentum than ever. On Saturday, September 13, over 90 teams will each try to drag a 200,000-pound aircraft 50 feet across the tarmac, raising funds for local programs while racing for the best time.
This family-friendly event also kicks off the 2025–2026 United Way campaign and includes food trucks, face painting, bouncy castles, and even a mini plane pull for kids. It all happens from 8:30am-1pm at 9272 Airport Rd. in Mount Hope.
The age old question: how many people does it take to pull a plane 50 feet?

🌿 Nature Stewards Program Gets $25K Boost

Source: Oakville News
Conservation Halton’s Nature Stewards program just received a $25,000 boost from the Ontario government to keep the momentum going for two more years. Since launching in 2024, it’s helped over 600 seniors in long-term care and retirement homes get active outdoors through native gardening, scenic walks, and hands-on nature workshops.
The announcement came at Crawford Lake, where MPP Zee Hamid joined local leaders and seniors to celebrate the good news. With a focus on wellness, connection, and fresh air, Nature Stewards is proving that getting outside is one of the best ways to feel good, at any age.
