Community Spotlight

🏒 Oakville’s Luke Evangelista Spreads Valentine’s Day Love in Nashville

Oakville native Luke Evangelista, a player for the Nashville Predators, is making an impact off the ice by partnering with Friends Life Community, a Nashville-based program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, to create custom-painted shoes for special team events.

Evangelista collaborated with local artists to design four unique pairs, each worn for themed game nights, including Hockey Has a Heart Night, Hockey Fights Cancer Night, Kids Night, and Military Week. For Hockey Has a Heart Night on February 3, artist Randle decorated a pair of shoes with hearts and Evangelista’s number 77. “Randle's signature painting style is that she loves hearts so we figured heart night was the best way to represent her skills,” Evangelista shared.

A former Oakville Rangers player and St. Thomas Aquinas student, Evangelista continues to give back to the community, both in Oakville and beyond.
