👨🚒 Firefighters Go Door to Door
This summer, if you hear a knock in the evening or afternoon, it might be your local firefighters. They’re visiting 12,000 homes across Oakville until September 30, sharing quick, helpful tips on fire and carbon monoxide safety. You don’t need to let them in, they’ll drop off booklets and answer any questions. Fire Chief Paul Boissonneault says he wants you to test your alarms monthly, replace them every 10 years, and practice your escape plan. It’s all about keeping you and your family safe.

The June 8 ribbon-cutting marked CEFA’s second Ontario school, following its 2023 Burlington debut. Rooted in Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies, the program nurtures children’s academic and emotional growth during their most formative years.

🍽️ Battle of the Chefs Recap

Oakville News
Over 400 food lovers gathered at the Oakville Conference Centre for the annual Battle of the Chefs, raising over $60,000 for Food4Kids Halton. Guests sampled creative dishes from nine Burlington restaurants, then voted for their favourite. The Mule clinched the top spot again with their Crispy Goat & Pork Knuckle Al Pastor, becoming back-to-back champions.
Food4Kids Executive Director Jennifer Sully-Ferraro said the event was “a reminder of the strength, compassion, and generosity of our community.” Proceeds will help feed over 1,200 local children. Delicious food, a packed crowd, and a great cause made this one of the region’s standout fundraisers.

This sweet senior prefers to be the only pet in the home. His adoption fee is currently 50% off, so If you’re ready for a loyal, lovable companion, Chipps is waiting to meet you.

The weather section is here on every issue in case you don’t get a chance to check your weather app in the morning, but the newsletter has limited room and we want to make sure we are providing the most value possible for our readers.
Please let us know if you would like us to keep the weather section, or if you would rather we replace it with something else. If you are on team replace, please give us some ideas for what you would like to see instead! Thanks - Nick.
