🍁 Canada Day at the Waterfront!

Looking for something to do on July 1st? Come celebrate Canada Day in Oakville on Tuesday, July 1 at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park! The fun starts at 5 p.m. with live music, food trucks, face painting, crafts, and more. Watch performances from Kune, Mary Frances, and ROCK STAR LIVE karaoke, plus a performance by the Oakville Chinese Network Society’s Dragon Dancers.

Fireworks over the lake begin at 10 p.m., weather permitting. If you don’t even want to imagine trying to find a place to park, don’t worry, free shuttles will run every 10 minutes from Bronte GO Station to the park so you can skip the traffic!

💦 Ways to Escape the Heat!

I’m sure you all noticed, but yesterday was very hot, and today is not much better. To help you cool off, the Town of Oakville is extending splash pad hours from 10 am to 9 pm until Wednesday June 25th. If this sounds like a good time, checkout all the different splash pad locations here, and while your at it here are the Town’s outdoor pools.

Community Spotlight

🐶 Pet Spotlight: Meet Blade!

Blade is a 10-year-old French Bulldog who loves cuddles, treats, stuffies, and quality time with his people. He’s deaf but great on leash, house trained, and knows how to sit. Blade prefers a calm home with everyone 16 or older and might get along with the right dog buddy. He’s independent yet affectionate and would be a perfect match for someone ready to keep his training going!

🎓 Cheers to Oakville’s Future Stars!

Thirty Oakville grads are heading into their next chapter with a little bit of help, thanks to Rotary Oakville. In celebration of 100 years of service, the organization awarded a total of $100,000 in Rotary Education Awards to deserving grade 12 students across the community.

Each student received at least $3,000 to support their post-secondary dreams, with a few receiving extra awards for outstanding community service. The announcement was made during a virtual ceremony with proud families and Rotarians cheering them on. The funds were made possible through local events like the Family Ribfest and Golf to Give. Congrats to all the recipients!
