🍽️ Food Network Seeks Oakville Home Cooks
Food Network Canada is on the hunt for five bold and talented Oakville home chefs to star in a future episode of Come Dine with Me Canada. If you’ve got a signature dish, a flair for hosting, and a competitive streak, this is your moment. Contestants take turns throwing dinner parties, scoring each other’s efforts, and battling it out for cash + serious bragging rights.
To apply, you’ll need to be 19 or older, a Canadian resident, and available to film for two days and four evenings sometime between August and October. The deadline is Friday, July 25. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity!
🚨 Oakville Issues Warning on Parking Scam
The Town of Oakville is alerting residents to a scam involving fake parking penalty texts. Messages claim to be from the “City of Oakville” and include a link about a supposed parking fine. The town confirms these are fraudulent and notes the use of “City” is a red flag since Oakville is officially a town.
Residents are urged not to click any links or respond to the texts. If you've been targeted, report it to Halton Police’s non-emergency line at 905-825-4777.

📘 Oakville’s 2024 Report

From launching a new Housing Secretariat to earning LEED Gold certification and hosting the first Oakville Youth Awards, the town showcased a year of action aligned with its Strategic Plan and net-zero goals.
Oakville also maintained strong financial footing, receiving a clean audit from KPMG and delivering the lowest property tax increase among nearby municipalities. Recognition as Ontario’s most livable community and continued Culture Days leadership capped off a year of meaningful progress.
